UPS Surcharges
Effective September 8, 2025, a fee will be assessed for each UPS Worldwide Express®, UPS Worldwide Express Plus®, UPS Worldwide Express NA1®, UPS Worldwide Expedited®, and UPS Worldwide Saver® U.S. import shipment.
The International Processing Fee will be £2.00 or the local currency equivalent per shipment.
Impact Express Service & Tariff Guides will be updated asap 21 to reflect these changes.

UPS Surcharge Fee 2026/27
UPS are implementing the Surge Emergency Fee and Demand Surcharge, which will take effect on 20 September 2026 and remain in place until 6 February 2027.
Surge Emergency Fee
- A Surge Emergency Fee of 0.48 GBP per package (or the equivalent in local currency) will apply to domestic shipments (domestic Standard, Express, Express Saver and Express Plus) delivered to residential addresses. In Italy, this fee will apply to both residential and commercial deliveries.
- A Surge Emergency Fee of 0.13 GBP per kilogram (or the equivalent in local currency) will apply to worldwide and transborder UPS Standard shipments delivered to residential addresses.
- A Surge Emergency Fee will also apply to selected international air shipment lanes and services, including Express, Express Saver, Express Plus, Expedited and Worldwide Express Freight. Applicable rates vary by origin and destination route.
The domestic and international Surge Emergency Fees are subject to a fuel surcharge. For international shipments, the fees will apply based on the shipment’s billable weight.
Please note that the Surge Emergency Fees are subject to change. Shippers should regularly check the UPS.com Shipping Zones and Rates page for updates before tendering shipments.
Demand Surcharge
A Demand Surcharge will apply to all domestic and international shipments that require Additional Handling or are classified as Large Packages and will remain in place until 6 February 2027. The existing Demand Surcharge rates that meet the specifications for Over Maximum Limits will increase to:
- Additional Handling (£13.90+7.25 GBP)
- Large Packages (£65.85+68.95 GBP)
- Over Maximum Limits (£458.40+439.90 GBP)
DHL Temporary Demand Surcharge
DHL will be activating Demand Surcharges effective 1 October 2026 until 5 February 2027.
Charge amounts and application dates may vary throughout the demand period determined by DHL. Any changes will be subject to prior notice.
Charges apply in GBP per kg (billing weight), based on the shipment’s origin and destination. Fuel Surcharge applies.
Time Definite International*
Domestic Time Definite and Domestic Day Definite 2
A flat 0.10 GBP per kg Demand Surcharge applies to all Domestic Time Definite and Domestic Day Definite shipping services.
International Day Definite 3
A flat 0.15 GBP per kg Demand Surcharge applies to all International Day Definite shipping services.
1 DHL Express Worldwide, DHL Express 12:00, DHL Express 10:30, DHL Express 9:00, DHL Express Envelope, DHL Express Breakbulk including the respective Import and 3rd Country equivalents.
2 DHL Express Domestic, DHL Express Domestic 9:00, DHL Express Domestic 10:30, DHL Express Domestic 12:00 as well as DHL Economy Select Domestic where available.
3 DHL Economy Select and DHL Economy Breakbulk including the respective Import and 3rd Country equivalents.
